The Deep End

The Deep End

Hey Meeple People! So, I’ve discovered that there is a LOT more to blogging than I realised! When doing some research on this topic, I may have jumped a little too far into the deep end for a beginner blogger, as all the information I’ve been consuming has been talking about web analytics and boosting SEO (search engine optimisation), concepts I’d literally never heard of before last week. So admittedly, it melted my brain a little!

The information I took from it has definitely been valuable though, and it’s nice to know that there are ways to reach more people, if and when I decide to scale this blog up. For now though, I want to focus on getting my feet under the rug and try to get posts out on a regular basis.

Hitting the Socials

Personally, I really wanted to take this whole ‘board game blog’ project.. thing seriously, and like many creative people I know, when an idea hits me that I’m really passionate about, I tend to go a bit OTT.

That’s why I took steps, firstly to create my website (which I will likely be shamelessly plugging in all my posts FYI), but I also went a step further to claim my preferred ‘company’ name across as many social media sites as I could.

I plan to make use of them eventually, but I really don’t want to waste peoples time with the same content copied and pasted on multiple platforms. So I will likely use my website and the BoardGameGeek blog to post for now.

Am I Procrastinating?

A little extra info/context about me and where I’m at right now. I am currently in the final stages of my University degree and I’m feeling very proud and energised because I completed the practical element of my studies on the Friday just past. However, technically I should really be focusing on writing my dissertation right now.. So erm… Yeah!

This little passion project has eaten into some of that time, but I have truly loved having that creative spark feeling in me again! I already have lots of ideas for future posts, so I will be writing them up when I can and getting them out! …AFTER I’ve finished my assignments (probably).

Anyway, that’s enough of my waffle.

Take care.
